such a nerd

im such a nerd/dork (geeks are more science and/or math people, in my opinion anyway).
i recently recommended
the shining to jaimie, who said she loved it (yaay), which i then got all kinds of excited about (*ahem, i now have a new book buddy) Xp and now i want to recommend ALL kinds of other books to her too. actually, id recommend any one of these to anybody, but i dont have a lot of people in my life who love books the way i do =|
these are the books that i can read over and over and over again. i know i already know whats going to happen at the end, but its the story as a whole that i love.

the outsiders s.e. hinton
the alchemist paulo coelho
the notebook and message in a bottle nicholas sparks
the awakening kate chopin
the yellow wallpaper charlotte perkins gilman
the food revolution john robbins (uh huh, as in baskin-robbins )
where the red fern grows wilson rawls
dracula bram stoker
romeo and juliet william shakespeare
the great gatsby f. scott fitzgerald
metamorphosis ovid
beowulf seamus heaney
memoirs of a geisha arthur golden
roots and queen alex haley
edith hamilton's and thomas bulfinch's collections of mythology
(my favorite is the one concerning cupid/
eros and psyche - if you still have your books from high school, look it up. i promise, its the best story ever.)

dang. makes me want to go read something...

I loved Memoirs of a Geisha! Have you heard of "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See? That's a good one too!
